Anne
Rendall - Biography
Background
I trained
originally as a magazine journalist with D.C.Thomson & Co,
Dundee
and worked on various women's and teenage publications such as Blue Jeans, Diana and Annabel and Looking Great. I was editor of Jackie magazine, which in its heyday, had
sales of 1 million copies per week.
Qualifications
I studied Business Studies and Marketing and hold the Diploma from
the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Most recently I completed a BA
in Management with
Heriot-Watt
University
in
Edinburgh.
Experience
I have worked with both the public and private sector, spending time
as Marketing Co-ordinator for Dundee City Council and was a member
of the team which in 1999, won the Royal Mail Grand Prix Marketing
Award for the City of
Discovery Image Building Campaign. More recently I worked as a marketing manager with NCR, based in
Dundee, who make one third of the
world’s ATMs, and with
Beattie Media – one of Scotland’s largest PR agencies.
Skill
Set
Skills are focussed on the area of marketing, with press and PR a
particular specialisation. Interim Management – holding the fort
to cover for short term resource problems - is a growing area of
development for the business.
Associates
When services are called for which are not within my own
skill set I can call on a variety of colleagues for assistance in,
for example, the fields of design, print, administration and finance
and put together a team as required.
